“Strange Love” Café, Vilnius - custom-made furniture for a bright and minimalist café interior

About the project:

As part of establishment for the new “Strange Love” café, we were responsible for some of the space’s most important pieces of furniture. In this project, our work involved not just selecting standard furniture, but individual custom production. In line with the interior concept, we crafted the bar, shelves, tables and upholstered benches.

Project concept:

The café’s interior is dominated by light, calm tones and minimalist forms. A palette of white and soft sandy colors is combined with light wood, metal accents and soft textile surfaces.

There aren’t many strong contrasts in the space, so every detail becomes important. The proportions of the furniture, the materials, the textures and how the individual elements come together are very important. The custom-made furniture was intended to become a natural part of the interior, maintaining a clean overall aesthetic.

Our solutions:

For this project, we produced one of the café’s most important elements - the main bar. Also we were responsible for shelves, tables, and upholstered benches production.

The colors, materials and proportions of the furniture were adapted to the overall interior concept. Tables of various shapes and heights, along with long seating areas, allow the same space to be adapted to the different needs of the café’s visitors.

This project also clearly demonstrates that furnishing commercial spaces does not always begin with the selection of standard furniture. When an interior requires a specific size, shape, or finish, we can produce the furniture individually to suit the specific space and interior vision.

The result:

In the final interior, the custom-made furniture does not compete with the space but becomes a natural part of it. The bar, shelves, tables and soft benches maintain the same calm style of colors and materials, emphasizing the café’s cohesive character.

The result is a bright, subtle and functional space where simple forms, neutral tones, and carefully selected details allow the main focus to remain on the reason people gather here - a good cup of coffee.
