   Since Covid-19 has touched our lives very strongly we must comply with cleanliness and other security measures even more than we did before. Public spaces which have large customer turnover must ensure that frequently touched surfaces are cleaned and disinfected more frequently than usual.

   Soap, disinfectants or concentrated alcohol can destroy the virus on the surface, but certainly not all products are good for cleaning wooden table tops. Disinfectants, strong cleaning products that include any aggressive cleaning components or D10 sanitiser can damage wooden table top surfaces. 


​ Most wooden table tops are covered with lacquer so cleaning them with aggressive cleaning products can damage them. Lacquer cover provides a strong protection layer for table tops, that if properly maintained can last for years. Main problem is that disinfectants and aggressive cleaners break down the lacquer chemical properties which softens it. Softer lacquer finish is more likely to peel off, change color, become more cloudy, susceptible to various dirty and scratch. All this can be avoided cleaning table tops properly. 

   Soap is the most effective way to remove the virus and it is the least damaging abstergent to use on a table top. Everything is simple.  To maintain the cleanliness and protect the wooden table tops the best option is to clean them with warm soapy water or with regular mild detergent. Zurück
